Periodontitis is one of the most common chronic diseases worldwide. Despite modern dentistry, many treatment strategies still rely on non-specific, antibacterial methods that can weaken the entire microbiome.
PerioTrap takes a different approach: We are developing methods that specifically block the disease-causing properties of individual pathogens such as P. gingivalis – without impairing the important protection provided by beneficial bacteria.
This idea combines cutting-edge research in biotechnology with the practical needs of dentistry, enabling a new dimension in prevention and care.
